The Luann Dummer Center for Women announces the recipients of the 2007-2008 Student Fellowships for Research on Topics Related to Women.

The fellowship recipients, the titles of their research and their faculty advisers are listed below.

Undergraduate:

  • Anna Gajdel, "The Working Habits and Literary Exchange of Victorian Women Writers: Charlotte Brontë and Elizabeth Gaskell," with Dr. Alexis Easley, College of Arts and Sciences (English Department)
  • Nicole Willette, "Women's Political Influence in Great Britain Before Suffrage: Frances Power Cobbe and Harriet Martineau," also with Easley

Graduate:

  • Mirabelle Fernandes-Paul, "What to Expect When You Are an Expecting 'Alien': Childbirth Perspectives of Immigrant Women in a Rapidly Growing Region in Southern Minnesota ," with Dr. Susan Huber, School of Education (Department of Leadership, Policy and Administration)
