Leaders of Today and Tomorrow Conference Scholarships Available for Graduate, Undergraduate Women

The University Advocates for Women and Equity (UAWE) is encouraging graduate and undergraduate women to participate in the Minnesota League of Women Voters’ Leaders of Today and Tomorrow Women’s Leadership Conference. Titled “Inspire, Develop, Connect,” the event will be held on Saturday, May 21, at the Kahler Grand Hotel in Rochester, Minn.

UAWE offers scholarships to assist UST graduate and undergraduate women who wish to attend the conference; in addition, full scholarships are available from the St. Paul League of Women Voters for students interested in an internship opportunity with the St. Paul LWV. Interns can work on projects related to voter service, member outreach and “Open World,” which hosts delegates from the country of Georgia.

LOTT is a program of the League of Women Voters Education Fund. The 2011 LOTT conference will be a one-day event of speakers, panel discussions, workshops and networking for collegiate and emerging professional women leaders. It will focus on personal progression, leadership and inspirational advice.

Cost of the conference is $99. To apply for a scholarship, send the following materials to Dr. Susan Myers by 4 p.m. Friday, April 8:

  • Current unofficial UST transcript.
  • Completed scholarship application, available from Myers via email.
