Leaders of Today and Tomorrow (LOTT) conference scholarships available

Leaders of Today and Tomorrow (LOTT) is a program of the League of Women Voters Education Fund.  The 2005 LOTT conference – "Women Making a Difference in Public Policy" – is an event where participants will meet Minnesota women leaders from the state legislature, courts, media and interest groups. Participants will attend skill-building workshops and a mentorship lunch with women involved in public policy.

Seminar dates are Jan. 13-15, 2005, at the Minnesota State Capitol complex and the Holiday Inn East in St. Paul.

The conference is designed to encourage undergraduate college and university women to participate in politics and public policy. "This was a fantastic experience that will be with me forever," said a former LOTT participant.  "It was a privilege to be involved in a conference that included brilliant, warm, friendly women from so many different colleges."

The Luann Dummer Center for Women sponsors four UST undergraduate women each year due to funds received from the University Committee on Women Coordinating Council.  Applications for the LDCW LOTT scholarship must be received by 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at the center.

Three copies of the completed application as outlined below must be sent to the center at Mail 4075, or dropped off at the center in Room 103, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center:

  • A current unofficial UST transcript
  • A completed LDCW scholarship application form (available at the center)
  • A completed LOTT registration form (available at the center).

If you know of anyone who might be interested, please ask her to stop by the women’s center, Room 103, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center, or contact Pat Alexander for information. Your efforts will help the center make this opportunity known to as many undergraduate women as possible.
