The Tommies won 9-8 with the help of a defense that held its ground as Grand Valley State outshot the Tommies 8-0 in the final quarter but could not score.

In the semifinals, the Tommies defeated Dayton, 14-13, with Ryan Zeilinger stopping a shot as time expired to clinch the win. In the first two rounds of the tournament the Tommies defeated Western Oregon, 11- 6, and North Dakota State, 10-7.

The Tommies finished the season with a 17-1 record, losing only to St. John’s University, 7-6, in divisional play April 14. Two weeks later, however, the Tommies knocked the Johnnies out of the MCLA playoffs, winning 10-8.

The team is coached by Peter Moosbrugger.
