Interviewing for upper level candidates is topic of Nov. 8 Master’s Connection

From Graduate Business Career Services, Opus College of Business

The next Master's Connection networking breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, in Room 201, Opus Hall, Minneapolis campus. George Dow, vice president of management consulting and an executive coach at Right Management Consultants, will share insight on "The Executive Perspective: Interviewing and Negotiating Strategies for Upper Level Positions."

Learn the eight ways executive job candidates are judged during the interviewing process and how to optimize your effectiveness in each of these areas: preparation, ability, motivation, fit, integrity, sponsorship, attitude and competitiveness. Dow also will break the interviewing process down to its five critical phases and discuss the three biggest factors in the negotiation process. Finally, you'll learn how the senior management interviewing and negotiating process is distinct, and in what ways it is similar to interviews from earlier in one's career.

All current graduate business students and alumni are welcome.

About the speaker: Dow, M.B.A. '83, is a professional career consultant who helps executives, professionals and business students manage their careers during times of transition and growth. He has been an executive career-transition coach at Right Management Consultants for the past 17 years, and in recent years he has been an instructor at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management. Dow also provides career-transition coaching for executives, managers and professionals in his private practice.
