Are you an international student graduating this May? Would you like to carry your country's flag in the commencement ceremony? Students graduating in May are eligible to carry their country's flag in the commencement procession.
This year, commencement will take place on Saturday, May 21. If you would like to represent your country by carrying its flag, click here to submit a form (graduate business and law school students, please do not sign up through this site).
According to the St. Thomas Flag Policy approved by the president's office, any University of St. Thomas student who was born in, has citizenship of, or is a first generation immigrant from a country outside of the United States should be allowed to carry the flag of their home country. This includes international students studying at the University of St. Thomas on a non-immigrant visa, permanent residents, asylees, refugees or U.S. citizens.
The deadline to sign up has been extended to April 7. The first person to sign up from a country will be that country's flag bearer. Send in the form as soon as possible if you want to represent your country.
