An International Forum on the Middle East will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in Room 160, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. Wine and cheese will be served.
Dr. David Penchansky, Theology Department, will speak on travel to Sinai and Jerusalem. He visited the Middle East last summer to prepare for a proposed January-Term course and got more from the trip than he had bargained for.
His experience of the sense of place transformed the nature of the course that he wanted to teach. He realized how the actual geography shapes the spiritual experience of the land, and that all the religions that inhabit the land equally share in this geographic experience and are shaped by it.
