Law professors Susan Stabile and Mark Osler invite students, faculty and staff to take part in “Midday Dialogue on Faith: Intercession” at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in Room 242 at the University of St. Thomas School of Law.

In light of the positive response to the midday dialogue between Osler and Stabile on the subject of creeds last spring, this is the first of two Dialogues on Faith that will be offered this academic year. The goal of each dialogue will be to focus on one particular area on which there is disagreement between Catholics and Protestants (or among Protestants) and engage in a discussion that will help deepen everyone’s understanding of the views of those outside of their own faith tradition.
This midday dialogue between Osler and Stabile will focus on "intercession," including the questions:
- What do Catholics understand to be the intercessory role of Mary and the saints?
- Why do they think intercession is important or valuable?
- Why are Protestants uncomfortable with the idea of intercession?
These and other questions will be examined during this dialogue, which also will invite the participation of those attending.

The dialogue is sponsored by the Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership in the Professions. The School of Law is located on the university's Minneapolis campus.
