Informational meeting Nov. 29 about Genocide Intervention Network, new social action group at UST

An informational meeting about the Genocide Intervention Network is scheduled at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, in Room 123, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center.

Everyone’s welcome; free pizza will be served as the group makes plans and outlines its programs on campus.

This new social action group at St. Thomas began at Swarthmore College in Philadelphia to educate and inform students about the genocide in Sudan. The network’s goals include raising awareness and creating political advocacy for peaceful solutions to global conflicts. Chapters have been organized at colleges and universities throughout the country.
