Historic scholarship gift will be announced at picnic celebration here Thursday
The largest single gift for scholarships in University of St. Thomas history will be announced at a picnic celebration on the St. Paul campus Thursday, May 8.
All members of the St. Thomas community are welcome. The free picnic will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the lower quadrangle's Foley Plaza.
Father Dennis Dease, president of St. Thomas, will announce the gift and introduce the donors at a short program at about noon, also on Foley Plaza.
In case of rain, the picnic will be served in the Coughlan Field House.
Scooter's, the Grill and the Student Dining Room -- the three locations on the main campus where food is served -- will be closed while the picnic is in progress. Binz Refectory will remain open all day, however, on the south campus.
