Public Safety and Parking Services announces holiday break and January Term parking policies for the St. Paul campus:

Vehicles will not be ticketed for "No UST permit" violations in St. Thomas lots from 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, through 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002. All other parking regulations will be enforced during this time, including restricted spaces, fire lanes, handicapped spaces, no overnight parking in nonresiden tlots, etc. Permits will be required in all lots beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002.

If you must leave your vehicle on campus over the holiday break, it must be parked in Lot T (north of McCarthy Gym) or Lot V (west of the Service Center) on the south campus. In order to properly plow the lots, it is necessary that other lots not be used for storing vehicles over the holiday break. If your vehicle does not have a current UST parking permit and will be parked on campus Dec. 14, 2001-Jan. 1, 2002, please notify Public Safety and Parking Services, (651) 962-5100. You will be asked for your license plate number when you call.

Valid UST parking permits will be required in all lots during J Term. If you have a fall semester or full-year permit, you do not need a J Term permit. J-Term permits are $10 and available in Public Safety and Parking Services. J-Term permits are not valid on the Minneapolis campus. Spring semester permits, valid Jan. 28-Aug. 31, 2002, will be sold for $80 in mid-January. A UST ID is required to purchase a campus parking permit.

Faculty and staff may park in Lot H (Summit/Cretin lot) during J Term.

All resident students are eligible to purchase J-Term permits and may park in all resident lots (A, C, V and W) with a valid permit over J Term. Supplemental lottery applications for the spring semester resident student permit lottery must be submitted by Monday, Jan. 28, 2002. All previously received lottery forms automatically will be submitted in the lottery.
