Helpers needed for holiday dinner for homeless

Volunteers In Action will host the 20th annual Holiday Dinner on Saturday, Dec. 5. It will provide an elegant meal served by St. Thomas students, staff and faculty for approximately 200 homeless adults and families from the St. Paul area.

The dinner will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Room 304, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. It is funded by donations, STAR cooperative funding, Campus Ministry and VIA. This funding will help pay for gift bags made by Personal Counseling, transportation, catered dinner, prizes and a jazz band.

Volunteers from the St. Thomas community are needed to help decorate before the event, prepare meals in the kitchen, serve dinner, eat with the guests, or clean up after the event.

Sign-up sheets are available outside the Center for Intercultural Learning and Community Engagement (CILCE), Room 153, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

The Holiday Dinner for the homeless is sponsored by VIA and STAR.
