Help out at Mississippi River Cleanup this Saturday

From the UST Green Team

Celebrate Earth Week with the St. Thomas Green Team at the annual spring cleanup of the Mississippi River banks. Volunteer to help from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14.

Come for a great family outing, a random act of kindness, a community-service project or just for the enjoyment of beauty and being outdoors. People of all ages are invited to join us at the World War I monument at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Mississippi River Boulevard – rain or shine. Bring gloves, rakes, good shoes and enthusiasm. Bags, gloves, coffee and possibly some food treats will be provided for participants who want them.

The University of St. Thomas , in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, takes responsibility for cleaning the east bank of the Mississippi River from the Lake Street-Marshall Avenue bridge down to the Ford Parkway bridge.

Questions about the cleanup may be addressed to Green Team presidents Abby Gaul or Bernadette Seefeld.

This event is sponsored by the UST Green Team, Physical Plant, Recycling Team, and the Minnesota DNR.
