Join the St. Thomas EcoAction Team in the annual fall cleanup of the banks of the Mississippi River from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2.

The University of St. Thomas, in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, takes responsibility for cleaning the east riverbank from the Marshall-Lake Street bridge down to the Ford Parkway bridge.

This could be a great family outing, a random act of kindness, a community service project, or for just the enjoyment of beauty and being outdoors. All ages are invited to meet at the monument at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Mississippi River Boulevard, rain or shine. Bring gloves, rakes, good shoes and enthusiasm. Bags, gloves, treats, key rings and a river cleanup T-shirt will be provided for all participants who want them.

The cleanup is sponsored by the EcoAction Team, Physical Plant, Recycling Team, and the Minnesota DNR.
