Health Services Reports Increased Cases of Influenza UST Health Services May 12, 2014 Health Services is reporting an increased incidence of influenza. Five students have been diagnosed with Influenza A during the past ten days. Although this cluster of activity is later than usual for influenza, it is not uncommon. Symptoms include: Rapid onset of high fever (>101) Intense body aches Cough Sore throat Headache Extreme tiredness If you are experiencing these symptoms: Avoid contact with others Rest and drink lots of fluids If you are in a high-risk group, call your health care provider for advice Seek medical attention if you are having these symptoms: Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen Sudden dizziness Confusion Severe or persistent vomiting Flu-like symptoms that improve, but return with worse fever and cough Remember that contracting the flu is possible even if you have received a flu shot.
