Space is still available in the weeklong Great Books Seminar, which will be offered in two sessions this summer — Aug. 5-10 and 12-17 — at St. Thomas’ Gainey Conference Center in Owatonna.

A mandatory orientation session for enrollees is scheduled at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 17, in Room 301, Terrence Murphy Hall, on St. Thomas’ Minneapolis campus.

This intensive, three-credit course, limited to 20 participants, is based on the renowned Aspen Institute Executive Seminar. It focuses selected writings of classic and contemporary thinkers as the starting point for focused discussions with peers. Readings address universal human concerns such as justice, freedom, economic equity, community, leadership and democracy.

For specific information about tuition, expenses for lodging, meals and reading materials — and the nonrefundable deposit required upon receipt of course materials, please call Michelle Rovang, (651) 962-4211.
