Thwaits Distinguished Speaker Series presents ‘Engineering Engineering Education’ March 8 St. Thomas Newsroom February 25, 2010 The School of Engineering’s Thwaits Distinguished Speaker Series will host a talk by Dr. C. Judson King, a member of the National Academy of Engineering, on Monday, March 8.Dr. C. Judson KingIn his talk, “Engineering Engineering Education,” King will discuss global trends in engineering education and the importance of rooting engineering education in a liberal foundation. King is the former provost and senior vice president of Academic Affairs for the University of California System.Dr. Don Weinkauf, dean of the University of St. Thomas School of Engineering, with the Alumni Association, invites faculty and staff to join engineering faculty members, alumni and business leaders to attend the event, which will be held in Room 304, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.The evening will begin with a social-hour reception at 5:30 p.m., buffet dinner, a short update on the School of Engineering, and then King’s talk.
