Monday, Feb. 5
10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Students, staff and faculty are invited to pick up a free UST mug with hot chocolate and complimentary cookies while supplies last outside the STAR and ACC offices in Murray-Herrick Campus Center. Students: While you’re there, pick up an application for a STAR internship for the 2001-2002 school year. Refill your mug with hot chocolate at the Grill for just 50 cents during the rest of the semester.
Tuesday, Feb. 6
11 a.m.: Get popcorn chicken and fries in the Grill for $3.75 while supplies last.
Wednesday, Feb. 7
- 11 a.m.: The Grill serves up vegetarian buffalo wings for $2.50. Get ’em while supplies last.
- 7:30 p.m.: Nationally known comedian Paula Poundstone takes the stage in O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium.
Poundstone grew up in Massachusetts and began her comedy career in 1979. Since then she’s won two Cable ACE Awards, the first in 1992 for her HBO stand-up special, "Cats, Cops, and Stuff." She was the first woman to win the Best Stand-Up Comedy Special award. She also won an American Comedy Award and a local Emmy for her work on a PBS series, "Life and Times." Her off-beat interpretations of everyday life come from her own experiences, including her role as a single mother to foster and adopted children.
Thursday, Feb. 8
Noon-3 p.m.: Banana splits are just $2 in the Grill. Yummy.
8 p.m.: Stop at Scooter’s for a little music to end the day.
Friday, Feb. 9
9 p.m.-midnight: Dance the night away in Coughlan Field House with the Johnny Holm Band. Doors open at 8:45 p.m. You may bring two off-campus guests with you, but be prepared to show your St. Thomas ID at the door.
