‘Gathering of Blueroad Poets’ is tomorrow St. Thomas Newsroom March 27, 2008 ‘Gathering of Blueroad Poets’ is tomorrowThe UST community is invited to "A Gathering of Blueroad Poets" from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, March 28, in the O’Shaughnessy Room (a.k.a. the "Leather Room"), Room 108, O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center.Regional writers, whose work is included in the recently published collection, The Blueroad Reader: Stardust and Fate, will read from and take questions about their writing.The reading will feature Jim Lenfestey, Richard Robbins, Philip Bryant, Freya Manfred and Jim Rogers, the managing director of the Center for Irish Studies at the University of St. Thomas and editor of the New Hibernia Review. Rogers also teaches in the UST English Department.John Gaterud, editor of The Blueroad Reader and founder in 2007 of Blueroad Press, also will participate in the event.The Blueroad Reader is a collaborative publishing enterprise featuring regional writers and artists whose works in some way reflect the many variations of travel across landscapes real and imaginary, now and then. All genres – including fiction, poetry, journalism, creative nonfiction, memoir, and slices of life – are featured in the volume, which will be produced semiannually. Stardust and Fate is the first volume in the series. Blueroad Press also plans to publish books by individual writers and artists.
