Friends of the Orphans Pequeños Tour to Perform at UST Tomorrow

Orphan children from Guatemala will fill Brady Educational Center auditorium with music tomorrow evening, Tuesday, Oct. 19. Friends of the Orphans is hosting its 2010 Upper Midwest Pequeños Tour, and the children are stopping at the University of St. Thomas.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. Refreshments will follow.

Friends of the Orphans, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit, has worked for more than 40 years to end the vicious cycle of poverty by giving safe and loving homes and brighter futures to children in Latin America and the Caribbean. The work is done through fundraising and volunteer efforts that support Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH, Spanish for “Our Little Brothers and Sisters”) orphan homes.

The orchestra from NPH Guatemala will give live performances at St. Thomas as they sing and dance the night away. The cost is free. Free-will offering and child-sponsorship opportunities will be available.

This event is sponsored by the St. Thomas Music Department. For more information, contact Courtney Keefe, Mail 7136, or Mackenzie Anderson.
