Family Weekend Planned for Oct. 7-9

The University of St. Thomas' annual  Family Weekend will be held Friday to Sunday, Oct. 7-9. Postcard invitations have been sent to the parents of all new and continuing undergraduate students.

A variety of activities are planned, most of them free, for students and their families. Some favorite traditions include:

  • Mass and brunch
  • Multicultural Family Reception
  • International Game Night in Scooter’s
  • Family Fitness Fun Run/Walk
  • An interesting slate of faculty lectures
  • Parent Network Brat and Chili Fest
  • College Art Gallery Collaborative Fall Art Tour
  • Tonic Sol-fa concert.

Additional events include: a lecture sponsored by the University Lectures Committee with Michele Norris, NPR co-host, celebrated journalist and author of “The Grace of Silence,” which was selected to be the text for the One Minneapolis, One Read series; varsity volleyball, soccer and football games; Night Skies observation; a reception for commuter students and their families; Family Movie nights showing "Cars 2" and "Kung Fu Panda 2"; a PULSE performance by UST students; therapy pets on the plaza; and an Ecumenical Prayer Service on Sunday morning.
