Each year, the EduCAUSE Center for Applied Research (ECAR) conducts a national survey of more than 30,000 undergraduate students to gain a better understanding of students’ behaviors, attitudes, skills and preferences with information technology. IRT has participated in the study for the past four years, and the results of the study have yielded important insights into how our students use technologies and how our students are similar or different from their counterparts in many other colleges and universities.
The focus of this year’s study was on mobile and handheld devices and the types of activities and services that students use with these devices. In today's report we highlight some of the key data points regarding mobile technologies in addition to the customary questions on student use of technology in courses.
