Earth Trek Series Presents 'Botswana and South Africa: Hope and Opportunity in the Face of Modernization' Sept. 28

Dr. Suzanne Wisniewski, Economics, and Dr. Jill Manske, Biology, will give a presentation on “Botswana and South Africa: Hope and Opportunity in the Face of Modernization” on Tuesday, Sept. 28.

This is the first presentation in International Education’s Earth Trek series for 2010-11. In this series, faculty members who have received travel grants will speak on their travels and related research.

Wisniewski and Manske will shed light on two countries of southern Africa that provide rich examples of modernization, opportunity and development in the face of enormous environmental, developmental, cultural and public health challenges.

The event will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 201, John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts. All students, faculty and staff are invited. Bring a lunch; beverages and dessert will be provided.
