The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) reported the first confirmed flu case of the season last week. The flu season is coming a bit earlier this year, according to the MDH, with the first case typically occurring toward the end of November. The MDH says the early start to the flu season means there’s more urgency for people to get vaccinated now. If you have not yet received a flu shot this year, there is still time to protect yourself and others.

If you are a student with the UST-sponsored Aetna Student insurance or a staff or faculty member and participate in a UST Blue Cross Blue Shield medical plan, your flu shot will be free of charge, as it is covered through those insurance plans. If you are not enrolled in a UST-sponsored medical plan, we will bill any insurance company; however, we do not know which companies will cover the shot, or we can accept cash or check for the $20 charge.

Stop in the St. Paul campus Health Service Flu Shot clinic from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, in Room 304, Murray-Herrick Campus Center; or the Health Services Minneapolis Flu Shot Clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, in Room 110, Terrence Murphy Hall; or call St. Paul, (651) 962-6750, or Minneapolis, (651) 962-4750, to schedule a flu shot.
