Dr. Michael C. Jordan named director of undergraduate academic affairs St. Thomas Newsroom May 5, 2005 Dr. Michael C. Jordan named director of undergraduate academic affairs I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Michael C. Jordan as the director of undergraduate academic affairs. A former Professor of the Year, Jordan has been on the St. Thomas faculty for more than 20 years. He has served as chair of the English Department, division director of Humanities and Fine Arts, and as interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. He is currently chair of the History Department and chair of the Core Curriculum Task Force. Dr. Michael C. Jordan The newly created position of director of undergraduate academic affairs will combine a number of functions formerly performed by the associate dean of arts and sciences with selected responsibilities that are handled in the Office of Academic Affairs. Some of the responsibilities include chairing the Committee on Studies, the Undergraduate Planning and Policy Committee and the Core Curriculum Assessment Committee. Because of his appointment, Jordan will step down as chair of the Core Curriculum Task Force but will remain an active participant in deliberations on the core as part of his new role.
