Over the past 20 years, a steady polarizing trend in the country has been noted … a relentless movement toward a “them vs. us” way of thinking and acting. The resulting impact on organizations, political structure, the economy and communities threatens the foundations that Americans hold most dear. Thursday's conversation will focus on why this dynamic happens and what can be done to begin to bridge the gaps in our lives.

Ross, is founder and chief learning officer of Cook Ross Inc., an organization dedicated to engineering successful large-scale organizational culture change efforts in the area of diversity management and cultural integration in professional services corporations, Fortune 500 companies and retail, health care, media and government institutions.

Cook Ross clients include: The Washington Post, National Geographic, National Public Radio, Coca-Cola Company, AT&T, KPMG, American Red Cross, Georgetown University, Howard University, the Ojibwa Indian Reservation and Washington, D.C., public schools, among many others.

Ross has served more than 25 years as a consultant to hundreds of organizations across the globe, specializing in leadership, diversity and organizational transformation. He is the architect of award-winning diversity and leadership education programs, including ReInventing Diversity, the Diversity Toolkit and CultureVision.

The breakfast will be held in Room 201, Opus Hall, on the university’s Minneapolis campus. It will begin with a networking breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by Ross’ presentation from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Fee is $40.
