The Great Books Reading Group will discuss Thornton Wilder’s comedy, “The Skin of Our Teeth,” from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, in Room 208, O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center.
Wilder’s play, winner of the 1942 Pulitzer Prize for drama, tells of the Antrobus family, which has survived a thousand calamities by the skin of their teeth.
The joint Theater Department of the University of St. Thomas and the College of St. Catherine will perform the play Nov. 11-13 and Nov. 18-20 in UST’s Foley Theater. (More information about the play will be published in the Nov. 4 Bulletin Today.)
In the future, the Great Books Reading Group plans to read Reluctant Dissenter by former UST president James Shannon, All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy and A Vindication of the Rights of Women by Mary Wollstonecraft.
The books are available in the UST Bookstore on the St. Paul campus. Look for the Great Books poster near the customer service desk.
Refreshments will be served.
