Times have changed. It is no longer enough to simply enroll in classes and study hard. Today’s students are pressed by increasing demands on their time and skills. Many students work jobs to both help pay for their education and prepare them for careers. They get up early, attend club meetings, work on business plans, gather for group work over lunch, attend class, work, study, try to communicate with friends and family in between, and finally grab a few hours of sleep before starting all over again the next day. Photographer Mike Ekern ’02 followed two Opus College of Business undergraduates through a typical day. While the paths of Lancelot Davies-Grant and Chelsea Duke never crossed, they share a focus on success and gratitude for the education they are receiving.
