Credit Union Offers Santa Special Loan

If you are not among the 98 thrifty members of the St. Thomas Employee Federal Credit Union Christmas Club who received $93,739.08 this week, and now find yourself short of funds for the occasion, you might be interested in the Santa Special Loan.

With a Santa Special Loan, credit union members with a Beacon (credit) score of 600 or more are eligible to borrow up to $1,000 for up to one year at an annual percentage rate of 10 percent. These loans will be available from the Monday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 29) until the Tuesday before Christmas (Dec. 21), but applications can be submitted now.

The Santa Special Loan is a “no-exception” offering – a member must have a credit score of 600 or more to be approved. This loan can be had in addition to the credit union’s regular signature loan of $3,000, but the $40,000 cumulative loan limit to any one member still applies.

Contact the credit union, (651) 962-6660, for a loan application, or stop by the office, Room 209 Loras Hall. For more information about the Santa Special Loan and other offerings, see the credit union website.
