College of Business staffer is St. Paul Winter Carnival's 'Klondike Kate'

Britt Wells, a College of Business staff member from Inver Grove Heights, was chosen as the St. Paul Winter Carnival's 2006 "Klondike Kate" after singing her way to the title Jan. 11 at the Prom Center in Oakdale.

For Wells, a 23-year member of the Lake Country Chorus of the Sweet Adelines, a fourth try at winning the "Kate" competition was the charm. She sang "Big Spender," "Last of the Red Hot Mommas" and "Put It Right Here."
