Colleen Striegel, director of human resources at St. Thomas, has accepted a position as director of human resources and administration for the American Refugee Committee (ARC) in Minneapolis. ARC is an international humanitarian aid organization that works for the survival, health and well-being of refugees, displaced people and others at risk in Africa, Asia and Europe.

“It is with mixed emotions that I announce the resignation of Colleen Striegel,” said Terry O’Connor, vice president for finance and administration. “Colleen has been very active throughout her career in helping individuals less fortunate, and this position will provide her an opportunity to continue in that endeavor. While we are all sorry to see Colleen leave St. Thomas, I know you will join me in wishing her the best in her new position.”

Judith Dwyer, executive vice president, added, “Colleen Striegel’s dedication to the mission of the University of St. Thomas is well known and deeply respected by all. We shall miss her but wish her every success in her new and significant position with the American Refugee Committee.”

Colleen will begin with ARC Sept. 18 and will continue on a part-time basis at UST to assist with the transition until Nov. 1.
