Father Michael Joncas, professor of theology and Catholic Studies, will give a talk from noon to 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 8, about the Latin hymns of Ambrose of Milan as an example of Latin poetry in transition from its classical form to medieval forms.

Though not necessarily essential, some knowledge of Latin is helpful to fully appreciate the talk.

The Classical Society will meet in Room 308, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center. Pizza will be provided.
