Christmas Concert Tickets Still Available

A handful of tickets are available for “Jubilant Light,” the St. Thomas Christmas concerts, on Sunday, Dec. 6, at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.

The 4 p.m. concert is sold out but restricted-view seats remain in the balcony, as do about 75 student tickets, for the 7:30 p.m. concert. Seats are $17.50 for adults and can be purchased online here. Students can purchase tickets for $5 from St. Thomas Activities and Recreation in Tommie Central in the Anderson Student Center.

More than 350 students will perform in nine vocal and instrumental ensembles at the 90-minute concerts. They include the Brass Ensemble, Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, Donne Unite, Guitar Ensemble, Festival Choir, Liturgical Choir, String Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble. It will be the first Christmas performance for the orchestra and the Guitar Ensemble.

A one-hour broadcast of the concerts will be aired this month on public television stations around the United States. The concerts can be seen locally on Twin Cities Public Television at 7 p.m. Dec. 17, 1 a.m. Dec. 18, 8 p.m. Dec. 24, and 2 and 8 a.m. Dec. 25, and TPT featured the concerts on the cover of its December magazine. The national broadcast schedule will be announced soon.

The concerts are broadcast through a grant from Al and Mary Agnes McQuinn. He is a member of the St. Thomas Board of Trustees and she is a former member of the College of Arts and Sciences Board of Advisors.
