By visiting each other’s classrooms, faculty have learned new techniques, including the "flipped classroom" in which students watch lecture videos before class and spend class time more engaged with the material.
The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice also presented the John C. Gessner Memorial Scholarship, Sociologists for Women in Society Award, James G. Ahler Award and Mikulay Misencik Endowed Scholarship in Criminal Justice.
