IMG_1399.JPG (2)More than 250 students were hooded in the Graduate Business Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 25. Randall J. Hogan, chairman and CEO of Pentair, delivered the commencement address and told the graduates “You’re starting the next phase of your lives” and the two things you need to be successful are to “create your own future, and control your own destiny. Make sure you have a goal in mind, when opportunities present themselves, you will be bold enough to take them.”

“I believe there’s never been a better time to be in business,” Hogan said, pointing out the worldwide growth of the middle class. He called capitalism “democracy at its finest,” noting that, “people are voting every day whether or not business is going to be successful.”

Hogan concluded, noting the importance of business and work, “Go forth and be proud because you’re part of a noble service.”

Hogan was presented with an honorary degree for his achievements. A video of the commencement ceremony will be available soon.
