Effective May 3, the Business Office will implement a policy addressing employee past-due accounts. The purpose of this policy is to articulate the financial obligations of University of St. Thomas employees to the university and the sanctions for not fulfilling those obligations. This policy applies to all faculty and staff of the university, including priests, and to all financial obligations and payments due or made to the university by an employee. Excluded from this policy are student workers.

According to Pam Peterson, business office director, employees are required to satisfy their financial obligations to the university in a timely fashion. Typical employee charges include, but are not limited to, parking citations, library fines, tuition and lab fees and health service charges, to name a few.

Peterson wishes to remind employees that per an Oct. 19, 2009, Bulletin Today announcement, employee billing statements are produced exclusively in an electronic format – paper billing statements are not mailed. Employees are able to access, view and print their billings statements through Murphy online. Once logged into Murphy, employees will find the “eBill & ePay System” link on the page that includes Personal Information, Employee Services and Parking Services links.

Employees have the option of paying their billing statement electronically as well; however, if employees prefer, payments still can be mailed in or dropped off at either the St. Paul or Minneapolis Business Office locations. Employees with billing charges will receive an automatic e-mail notification at the end of each month when the student billing statements also are produced.
