Five of the Bread Not Stones bus tour members will make a 40-minute presentation using gigantic props and theatrics at noon Thursday, Sept. 28. The bus will be parked in the southeast corner of Parking Lot H (corner of Summit and Cretin avenues).
The Bread Not Stones Bus Tour is the highlight of Pax Christi USA’s campaign to redirect military spending to provide for human needs. The tour features a 40-foot long Moneymobile painted with piles of money and a sign that reads, “Move Our Money Invest In Our Kids.”
An additional presentation will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, in the upper mall of the state capitol. An in-depth discussion of the issues surrounding military spending is planned for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, in Room 25 at the Law School of the University of Minnesota. Bishop Raymond Lucker, president of Minnesota Pax Christi since 1980, and Eric LeCompte, a 1999 graduate of St. John’s University in Collegeville, will examine federal budget priorities in light of the Gospel message.
