Bill “the barber” Weston to celebrate 30th year here St. Thomas Newsroom July 30, 2001 Bill Weston, the campus barber who runs HairWorks in Murray-Herrick Campus Center, is celebrating his 30th anniversary at St. Thomas on Wednesday, Aug. 1. Well, he doesn’t really know he’s celebrating yet. It’s a surprise. Weston doesn’t have a computer in his “office,” and there’s a good chance he won’t see this notice. So please don’t spill the beans until Wednesday. All of Weston’s friends and customers are welcome to stop by his shop between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. this Wednesday and wish him well. A longtime customer is bringing a cake, and there should be some punch and coffee on hand too. According to the informational booklet, “Facts About the University of St. Thomas,” Weston has given approximately 264,000 haircuts since becoming the campus barber in 1971. His shop is located in the lower level of Murray-Herrick; it’s next door to Print Inc. and not far from Scooter’s. If you have any questions, call Mary Nelson at (651) 962-6595.
