Ben Glenn ‘The Chalk Guy’ will speak and draw at 8 p.m. here tonight

Ben Glenn, also known as “The Chalk Guy,” will speak here at 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 7, in O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium.

His talk, free and open to the public, is sponsored by SHINE (an organization of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Campus Crusade) and the University Lectures Committee.

Described as an entertaining and passionate speaker, Glenn will blend personal anecdotes and experiences to make his points about leadership, goal setting, motivation, team work, self-esteem, spiritual growth and personal excellence.

Born in Minneapolis in 1973, Glenn later moved to Illinois and was accepted to St. Xavier University on a basketball scholarship. He also was accepted as an intern at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes National Conference Center, where he was first encouraged to pick up chalk and begin drawing.

In 1998 he was licensed as a minister through Rockville Baptist Church, and in 1999 completed his first book, Big Enough. Over the past eight years Glenn has spoken throughout the United States and in Canada, Australia and Guatemala.
