Anti-Pornography XXXChurch founder to speak here Thursday
Craig Gross, one of the founders of XXXChurch, a Web-based, Christian, anti-pornography organization, will speak at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in Koch Commons.
The talk is open to all and is sponsored by the University Lectures Committee and SHINE, a ministry of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Campus Crusade for Christ at St. Thomas.
XXXChurch, based in Fullerton, Calif., works to “bring awareness, openness, accountability and recovery to the church, society, and individuals in the issues of pornography and to begin to provide solutions through nonjudgmental and creative means,” according to its mission statement.
The organization’s Web site, at WWW.XXXChurch.com, explains its mission, target market (teens, especially), and strategies.
“We do some pretty crazy things around here and come up with some outrageous ideas, but it’s all to shed light on the problem,” the site explains. “We are a young organization wanting to be fresh and relevant in our approach and our communication.
“We are here not to judge those who are struggling with the problem or to deny its power and its reality. We are here to help people navigate through an ever-changing society and to help the church deal with these issues.”
