Alliance for Catholic Education application deadline is Jan. 25 St. Thomas Newsroom January 18, 2000 The application deadline for the Alliance for Catholic Education is Tuesday, Jan. 25. ACE offers students of all majors the opportunity to teach after graduation in an underprivileged Catholic school. Besides the experience of making a difference in others’ lives, ACE teachers receive a master’s degree in education from the University of Notre Dame and a grant of $9,500 to pay off undergraduate student loans or to put toward future education. All tuition and other expenses in the ACE program are paid for by the program. No teaching experience is necessary; ACE trains you. ACE teachers spend two summers taking education classes at Notre Dame and two school years teaching with the guidance of a mentor-teacher. ACE teachers live in community together, sharing their experience and learning from one another. St. Thomas currently has several graduates teaching in the program.
