All are welcome to join Students Against War event here tomorrow

Students Against War, a new organization at the University of St. Thomas, is planning an event at noon tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 10, to take a stand against a possible war in Iraq.

All are welcome to participate in the event that will begin outside the Center for Community Partnerships office, Room 153, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

The event, which will include a group walk on the main campus, and possibly the south campus, is being held during the convocation hour and is expected to last about 30 minutes. The route of the walk will be announced at the event.

In addition to the campus walks, fliers and other information about the ramifications of a possible war will be distributed. One of the fliers will be from ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism).

Dec. 10 is the National Day of Students Against War. It also is Human Rights Day at the United Nations, and the anniversary of the signing of the UN’s Declaration of Human Rights.

The Students Against War group is part of the Student Coalition for Social Justice at St. Thomas. Organizers of the event emphasize that all students, staff and faculty are welcome to participate.
