The String Orchestra and the UST Bands (Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band) will present concerts this week. The concerts are free and open to the public.

String Orchestra in Concert

8:15 p.m. Thursday, May 10
Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas
University of St. Thomas

Conducted by Dr. Matthew George, the concert will feature Brazilian guest conductor Rodrigo Toffolo and trumpet soloist Christopher Volpe in a performance of the music of Aguiar, Hovhaness, Rutter, Santoro, Torelli and Tschaikowsky.

UST Bands in Concert

8 p.m. Friday, May 11
O’Shaughnessy Auditorium
St. Catherine University

The UST Bands Concert will feature:

• Symphonic Wind Ensemble conducted by Dr. Matthew George
• Symphonic Band conducted by Dr. Douglas Orzolek
• Brazilian guest conductor Rodrigo Toffolo

The concert also will feature the performance of the St. Thomas-commissioned work “Dali” by Aldo Forte.
