The Career Development Center recently sent out a survey to those who graduated during the 2010-11 school year. We were able to collect information on 570 (46 percent) of those contacted.
Here are some of the results of the survey:
Of those responding to the survey 18.25 percent are currently enrolled in an advanced degree program, which is a decrease from about 23 percent in both 2009 and 2010. Aside from those already enrolled, 33.03 percent of last year’s class said they plan to enroll within four years of graduation.
Of those reporting employment, 40 percent secured their jobs more than a month before graduation, about 16 percent secured jobs around a month before or after graduation, and 44 percent were employed within eight months of graduation.
Here is the respondents’ employment status:
(Percentages are of those who responded to the question.)
Data is reported both as a whole and by academic department. The graduates were asked about employment status, when they secured employment, salary range, internship experience, plans for continuing education (including degree sought and field of study), and what states they reside in. A listing of employers and job titles as well as graduate schools and programs also are in the report.
The complete report can be viewed on the Career Development Center’s website. Hard copies of this report as well as previous reports may be requested by contacting the Career Development Center, (651) 962-6761.
We also want to remind undergraduate students and alumni that the Career Development Center continues to offer our services even after graduation.
