Professors Esteban Morales Dominguez and Katia de Llano Cuesta, scholars- in-residence on campus, will be making presentations at various venues around the Twin Cities in June to which the public is invited:
Morales is an authority on the political economy of Cuba, U.S.-Cuban relations, and racial issues in Cuba. He was the founder and now director emeritus of the Center for the Study of the United States at the University of Havana and is a member of the Cuban Academy of Sciences.
De Llano was an underground activist in the Cuban Revolution, a founder of the Cuban Women’s Federation, a former economic adviser to the head of the Cuban National Assembly, and a professor of Economics (retired) at the University of Havana.
Morales and de Llano also visited St. Thomas during fall semester 2000.
