The Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair Scholars Program) is designed to encourage first-generation college students from limited-income means and students from groups historically underrepresented in higher education to pursue doctoral study. The program provides a multitude of supports and services such as a summer research program, faculty mentorship, seminars and workshops, cultural excursions and professional development activities, extensive GRE test preparation, and academic and career development support to prepare eligible undergraduate students for a successful transition into some of the best graduate schools and programs across the United States.
Applications to participate in the McNair Scholars program are being accepted through Thursday, March 10. Applications are available on the McNair Scholars Program website.
The McNair Scholars Program is a nationally recognized scholarly program designed to prepare undergraduate students for immediate enrollment and success in graduate school programs that lead to a doctoral degree.
The McNair Scholars Program’s primary goal is to increase the number of students from underrepresented segments of society who go on to earn doctoral degrees.
The program is specifically designed to help talented first-generation college students who meet income guidelines, or students underrepresented in their fields of study, to enhance the skills they will need to meet the demands of challenging graduate programs.
Scholars in this highly competitive program are part of a unique group of students, nationwide, who have decided to embrace their education to the highest level in their field.
