The first event in the Education for Everyone series “Fidgety Fairy Tales,” a mental health musical, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium on the university’s St. Paul campus.

Presented by the  University of St. Thomas School of Education and the Graduate School of Professional Psychology, “Fidgety Fairy Tales” gives information about mental health disorders by retelling familiar fairy tales. Each story contains positive messages and portrayals of children with mental health disorders as well as some of the common symptoms of the disorders.

A CEU workshop will precede the show:

• 6 p.m., CEU workshop in Room 126, John R. Roach Center for the Liberal Arts; cost is $20 for two continuing education credits – fulfills licensure renewal credit for Early Warning Signs of Mental Illness.

“Fidgety Fairy Tales” musical in the O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium:

• 7 p.m., reception with information and refreshments.
• 7:30 p.m.,“Fidgety Fairy Tales,” a project of the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health.
  • “The Prince and the Pea” (autism)
  •  “Hansel and Gretel” (post-traumatic stress)
  • “The Frog Prince” (challenging behaviors)
