The University of St. Thomas School of Law’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) student organization offers free help with tax preparation for those who meet the income eligibility. All volunteers are trained and certified by the IRS.
The volunteers can prepare federal tax returns, state of Minnesota tax returns and Minnesota property tax refund documents. They can determine if you qualify for an earned income credit, child and dependant care credit, hope and lifetime learning credits or any other available credit. Federal and state returns can be filed electronically for fast service.
