Personal Counseling and Testing Center offers three student groups

From the Personal Counseling and Testing Center

The Personal Counseling and Testing Center is offering three student groups that will begin second semester. Meeting with other people to share common concerns is a great way to gain support and learn new coping strategies when feeling stressed, lonely, burned out or confused.

Interested students are encouraged to sign up for a brief intake interview by calling (651) 962-6780 or by visiting Personal Counseling in Room 356, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.

    Interpersonal Process Group
Students who are interested in learning how to enhance their relationships will benefit from this group. Members will be able to explore their interpersonal interactions and learn additional relationship-building skills. The group is confidential and will meet from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays in Room 370, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. The start date for the group is Wednesday, Jan. 30. For more information call Debra Broderick or Joni Downs, (651) 962-6780.

    Perfectionism Group
This group is offered for students who are finding it hard to live up to their expectations, feeling busy and overstretched, or who are struggling with procrastination. The goal of the group is to learn how to manage perfectionism and begin to find balance. Meetings will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesdays in Room 370, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. For more information call Sarah Armstrong or Kathy Scholljegerdes, (651) 962-6780.

Master’s In Social Work Student Group
If you are a student in the Master’s in Social Work program and you are enrolled in the group therapy course for spring 2008 you can participate in a group offered by the UST Personal Counseling Center focused on dealing with the difficulties of graduate school. The group also would serve as a supplement to the group course as a way of experiencing an interpersonal process group. Start date and time to be determined. For more information and to set up a brief intake appointment call (651) 962-6780.
