Gov. Tim Pawlenty to address UST’s First Friday luncheon Oct. 3
A talk by Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty kicks off the St. Thomas Alumni Association’s 2003-2004 First Friday Luncheon Series at noon Friday, Oct. 3 at The Depot, 225 Third Ave. S., Minneapolis.
Pawlenty, a South St. Paul native and University of Minnesota graduate, began his public service career as a member of the Eagan City Council and later was elected to the Minnesota House of Representative, where he served for a decade. He was elected governor in 2002. With the state facing a lagging economy and the largest budget deficit in history, challenges are significant. Pawlenty will provide an update on his first year in office.
On first Fridays of each month, October-December and February-June, the alumni association’s First Friday Luncheon Series offers lunch and a speaker of current interest. St. Thomas alumni and friends, along with the general public, are invited. Cost of each luncheon and presentation is $20.
Reservations for the Oct. 3 luncheon are due at noon Tuesday, Sept. 30. Early reservations are recommended as these events fill quickly.
